My name is Donald R. Morrison, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 16 years of experience working in the mental health field. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), and I later obtained my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-C). (And on some days, you may be able to meet our Unofficial Office Mascot, Lola!!! She is a Shiz-Tzu who loves everybody, especially if you give her treats!)
Throughout my career, I have worked as a psychotherapist in numerous mental health hospital settings, outpatient programs and school-based services. I most recently ended a 10-year stint as an adjunct professor in the MSW program at UNC-Charlotte, where I taught courses on psychopathology, family practice, group work and crisis intervention. I am also certified in clinical supervision by NASW-NC, and I provide clinical oversight for provisionally licensed clinicians.
My specialties in the field of mental health include working with children, teens and adults living with depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, OCD, PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, difficulties with life transitions, relationship problems, LGBTQIA+ issues and struggles with self-esteem. I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist who focuses on exploring and challenging your thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a healthy, action-oriented manner. I also utilize a person-centered, strengths-based approach to treatment, as I totally believe that you are already AWESOME, and that YOU are the expert on what is going on with YOU!!
My name is Jenny Greene, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been working with children since 1994. I worked for Mecklenburg County Early Intervention Services from 1994-2008, providing service coordination as well as specializing in educational services, helping to enhance the development in children from ages 0-3.
I became a stay-at-home Mom until receiving my master’s in social work and becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. I worked for an agency providing Behavioral Mental Heath Services for children between the ages of 4-17.
Due to the pandemic, I chose to open a private practice to continue to do in-person therapy with children. Telehealth therapy is appropriate for older children, and that is available within my practice (based on insurance coverage and health needs). However, I believe that younger children need face to face interactions to help them reach their fullest potential and get the most out of their therapeutic interventions.
Hi, I’m Heather Corsello, LCSW. I have always had a passion for helping others overcome challenges and achieve personal growth, which is why I pursued a career in Social Work. I received my Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) from Winona State University in Minnesota and my Master’s degree (MSW) in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago.
I have 17+ years of experience as a social worker in schools working with children with Autism, ADHD / attentional concerns, anxiety, depression and intellectual disabilities. Prior to that, I spent 6 years working with individuals and their families in long term care facilities providing psychosocial groups and counseling services. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, especially those with anxiety disorders.
I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through empathy and active listening, I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance that supports and empowers my clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth.
I understand that each individual is unique and requires personalized care, so I take a holistic and strengths based approach to therapy. I draw from various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) and mindfulness-based techniques, to tailor my interventions to meet the specific needs of my clients. This is done in an effort to help my clients develop coping skills, build resilience, and cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion so that they can gain insight into patterns and behaviors, and make positive changes in their lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children and three dogs, as well as reading, listening to podcasts and spending time outside exploring the Lake Norman area.
I’m here to be a beacon of hope and support for those seeking guidance and healing. Let’s embark on a transformative journey towards a brighter future together.
Heather is also fully credentialed to accept Medicaid and Medicare clients as well.
Greetings! My name is Cawetha “Kai” Mitchell. I’m a fully licensed clinical social worker who knew when I got my first job, as a peer counselor, that the service of others was definitely my life’s calling. The 9th grade social studies teacher who hired me was a community social worker by night and instructor by day. His love for serving people was infectious! To this day, seeing people win in all of life’s capacities is, for me, the ultimate high.
I received my Bachelor (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I then went on to obtain my license as a clinical social worker as I served as a crisis therapist, working with individuals of all ages and demographics; this included families and couples who were experiencing acute mental health, substance use and/or grief related crises.
Tools I use are found in modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). And as a responsible clinician, all I do is trauma informed.
As for client populations, I am most adept in my work with women and/or couples of all ages from diverse ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds who struggle with anxiety, self-esteem issues, maladaptive “people pleasing” tendencies, life transition challenges, mood disorders, cluster b personality disorders, adult ADHD, past childhood/relational trauma, and various interpersonal/couple’s disruptions.
I emphasize mindfulness, healthy emotional regulation, building distress tolerance, positive behavior activation, adaptive and assertive communication skills, and helping to restructure any negative or distorted thoughts, feelings, and/or core belief systems.
My other roles are that of a dedicated wife to my soulmate of thirty years, the mom of our four beautiful, adult children and “loyal servant” of three precious cat divas. I also love writing, reading, discovering new local restaurants, traveling, YouTube content creation, advocating for the underserved, and singing and dancing!
I have and will always endeavor to be my clients’ therapeutic advocate, partner, and cheerleader. I may have a good deal of experience in the world of behavioral health, but YOU are the expert in this therapeutic partnership! I’m merely a co-captain, hoping to assist you in navigating the waters of your healing journey. At Hope Habor, we believe magic can occur when dedicated people join together in commitment to a worthwhile cause. My wish is that you will choose to come on board so we can successfully discover workable solutions!
